Kevin Hart’s relationship with his first wife, Torrei Hart, has resurfaced in the public eye because of how his past infidelities have been referenced recently in Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart, which streamed live on May 10.
The event, which was hosted by Shane Gillis, was held at Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The roast special referenced his infidelity with his current wife, Eniko with whom he cheated in 2017.
The subject was brought up when Tom Brady took the stage and joked about returning to his ‘affairs in Las Vegas,’ directly referencing Kevin’s 2017 cheating scandal while Eniko was pregnant.
It also resurfaced Kevin’s relationship with his first wife, Torrei, who publicly stated that Kevin cheated on her during their marriage. Hart is an actress, producer, comedian and TV personality. She married Kevin in 2003 before the two divorced in 2011. They share the join custody of their children – Heaven Hart and Hendrix Hart.

Exploring Kevin Hart’s relationship with Torrei Hart
Kevin Hart and his first wife, Torrei, developed a romantic relationship during Hart’s early days in the entertainment industry.
They met in 2001 while attending community college in Philadelphia and bonded over their shared love for comedy. Torrei was born in February 1978 in North Philadelphia and was raised in New Jersey. In 1997, she joined the US Army, where she worked as a medical personnel.
Kevin and Torrei dated for about eight months before getting engaged. Their engagement led to their private ceremony on May 22, 2003. At that time, Kevin was early in his career and Torrei became his backbone. She said in a 2017 Inside Edition interview:
“When I met him, he was selling sneakers. He starts to get fame and I’m feeling, okay, well, a little left behind. We grew apart.”
The former pair welcomed two children in their marriage; a daughter named Heaven was born in 2005. They also became parents to a son, Hendrix Hart, who was born in 2008.
In the same interview with Inside Edition, Torrei confirmed that Kevin Hart cheated on her, which led to their marriage ending in 2011. She claimed that “lies and infidelity” led to the demise of their marriage. She said:
“I have an ex-husband who has repeatedly used me in his stand-up routine. For years, I had to endure that.”
Kevin Hart and Torrei Hart continue to maintain cordial ties despite their divorce. They have worked hard to build their blended family, focusing on the well-being of their kids. They are now co-parenting their children by juggling their busy schedules.
In an interview with CocoaFab in 2013, Torrei opened up about her communication with Kevin post their divorce and said:
“I’m like, ‘Look we have two kids. We have to stay in one accord and communicate.’ I’m just a stickler for that and it’s good he is the same way. It works for us. We both realize it’s about the children and so we make it work.”
After filing for divorce from Torrei, Kevin Hart went on to marry Eniko Parrish in 2016. A year later, Eniko posted an anniversary post on her Instagram and responded to fans by saying:
“Their marriage was broken way before I came in the picture. They were separated, living in separate homes. I was never a secret. She knew that as well.”
Torrei opposed her statement in her Inside Edition interview, stating that it was a “lie” and that she was not separated from her husband at that time. She told the outlet:
“I was like, what ‘never a secret?’ She said we were separated, not living together. That’s a lie. We were very much not separated.”
Eniko is a model, entrepreneur, and social media personality. They faced challenges like Hart’s 2017 Los Angeles cheating scandal, but remain married as of now, with two children together.
