It seems Lisa Kudrow isn’t crooning “I’ll be there for you” on Jennifer Aniston’s wedding day as the latter reportedly axed her Friends co-star from her bridal party.
According to a RadarOnline insider, the Comeback actress has been ejected from the Bruce Almighty star’s wedding with hypnotherapist Jim Curtis, adding that it was due to Kudrow’s “sixth Friend” comment last April. A source said:
“Lisa swears she meant no harm by her comments – she was merely pointing out that her castmates were seen as bigger stars.”
An insider from Jennifer Aniston’s camp then denied this claim.
“But the others, Jen especially, don’t see it that way. They’re not happy with Lisa for stirring up drama and pushing this self-pitying narrative that reflects poorly on the rest of them.”
Another source added:
“Jennifer’s having a hard time narrowing down the guest list, but Lisa’s remarks have made it easier. As of this moment, it’s highly unlikely she’ll make the cut.”
Lisa Kudrow claims “nobody cared” about her despite starring in Friends
In her interview with The Independent last April, Lisa Kudrow claimed that she was the overlooked cast member of Friends, compared to her co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry.
“Nobody cared about me. There were certain parts of [my talent agency] that just referred to me as ‘the sixth Friend.’ There was no vision for me, and no expectations about the kind of career I could have. There was just, like, ‘Boy, is she lucky she got on that show.'”
Kudrow, who starred as the eccentric masseuse Phoebe Buffay in the popular sitcom, added that fans often interpreted her character as a “ditz.” She, however, believes the contrary.
“At the time, it was like, ‘She’s such a ditz. How is it that you only play ditzes?’ And I thought, ‘Is she a ditz?’ To me, she wasn’t. In 1994, it was like, ‘I love her. She’s such a ditz.’ And it’s like, yeah, okay, that was what a ditz was to us. Someone who wasn’t toeing the line…. But she wasn’t stupid.”
Meanwhile, amid Friends’ airing and conclusion, Lisa Kudrow would appear in multiple movies, such as Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion (1997), Lucky Numbers (2000), Marci X (2003), Happy Endings (2005), Hotel for Dogs (2009), Easy A (2010), and more, proving her “nobody cared” remark wrong.
