In March, 2011, Michael actor, Jaafar Jackson posted a tweet where he joked about summoning Kanye West on the then 13-year old Rebecca Black should she pick up any awards.
Michael Jackson’s nephew said,
“Roses are red, violets are blue, if Rebecca Black wins ANY awards, Kanye you know what to do.”
Jaafar was merely 14 years old at the time. However, the tweet has resurfaced on the internet. While it’s unclear which award Jaafar was referring to, Black did win an award for Choice Web Star at the Teen Choice Awards held in August 2011. Black who saw the referenced tweet said,
“alright but u were fierce in michael tho”
Black in another tweet said,
“guys i’m just having fun after catching a literal decade old stray <3 happy mother’s day”
29-year old Jaafar Jackson has now gained recognition for starring in his uncle’s biopic Michael. The biopic released on April 24 and was directed by Anoine Fuqua, and written by John Logan. The film follows Michael Jackson’s career from the Jackson 5 era in the 60s to his rise and fame in the 80s.
The film brought in $36.5 mllion in its third weekend, pushing its U.S collection to a total of $240.5 million and it’s worldwide collection to $577.4 million as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Jaafar Jackson is the son of Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. Jermaine is a singer, songwriter and a producer. He was a member of the Jackson 5 alonside his brother Michael.
Walking into his family’s footsteps, Jaafar has been singing and dancing since 12, and has covered artists like Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye among others.

His uncle Marion also gave his approval and told Entertainment Tonight in April 2026,
“First of all, let me say one thing. I say this every time I speak of this movie: Jaafar is unbelievable.”
As per reports, a sequel surrounding more of Michale Jackson starring Jaafar Jackson is already in debut.
