The Boys star Laz Alonso opens up about his favourite scene from the series

The Boys star Laz Alonso, famous for his character Mother’s Milk, has revealed his favorite scene that he was in from the series.

Created by Eric Kripke, The Boys season 5 was released earlier this year in April. With the series coming to an end, Alonso’s character seems to be adjusting to everything life is throwing at him, including the fact that Soldier Boy cannot be killed, to which he reacted with a humorous laugh.

Laz Alonso recently opened up about his favorite scene in the series, which is from The Boys season 2 episode 3, titled Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men.

Speaking of the scene, Alonso said in an interview with The Rich Eisen Show that he grew up watching The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and always had a wish to experience being inside a whale.

He added:

“This show, season 2, when I read that script, and I realized that we were going to be crashing our boat inside of a whale”

He continued:

“It was almost like God spoke to me, “You got your wish, kid.'”

In The Boys Season 2 episode 3, Kenji (Kimiko’s brother)’s power throws the NYPD helicopter into the water after the police come behind Butcher and his team for the stolen yacht.

On the yacht, viewers see Butcher, Frenchie, Hughie, Kimiko, Kenji, and Mother’s Milk. As they are about to reach their destination, The Deep uses his power to gather the sharks, resulting in the team jumping on the speedboat. As they head towards the storm drain, a whale emerges from under the water, carrying The Deep.

However, as expected from Butcher, he doesn’t stop the speedboat and crashes it into the whale named Lucy. Traumatized by the incident, Hughie decides to stay back and is joined by Mother’s Milk, who decides not to leave him alone.

In the end, they all leave together, but after that, The Deep wakes up and tells Homelander what happened, including that they killed his whale, Lucy.

The Boys cast Laz Alonso, remembering the scene, said that after crashing the speedboat, they came out completely covered in blood, calling it one of the most fun moments he ever had on a film set. Alonso added that the temperature inside the whale was higher than the weather outside, which made filming even more fun.

The shooting of the scene was done on a Toronto beach, where the production used a seventy-five-foot animatronic whale to create the scene.

The Prime Video series is famous for its iconic and shocking scenes, like A-Train running through Hughie’s girlfriend Robin and Homelander and Queen Maeve’s plane scene. With only three episodes left for the finale, it will be interesting to see what new scenes The Boys Season 5 still has in store and how it brings the story to an end.

Laz Alonso also opened up about which character he would like to kill as himself, and the actor decided to choose MM’s biggest enemy in the series, which is Soldier Boy. In the series, Soldier Boy destroys MM’s family, and he wanted to kill Soldier Boy for the longest time.

Giving the reasoning, he added that if anybody had done the same to one of his friends, which Soldier Boy did to MM, they’d be his enemy as well in real life.

The Boys Season 5 finale is scheduled to release on May 20. The series is available to stream on Prime Video.
