Rumor has it that Lady Gaga attended Met Gala 2026 which was held on May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, marking a seven-year hiatus. Many outlets have been posting online about her recent appearance at the red carpet among other famous faces of Hollywood.
One of the X accounts, @ThaiJanuario, posted that Bad Romance singer appeared at the red carpet event in the Mugler FW97 feather gown. Their post read:
“Lady Gaga attends the 2026 Met Gala. #MetGala #MetGala2026. #MetGala”
However, according to a report published in Elle magazine, the rumor is not true as the outlet reported that the pop artist did not attend the 2026 Met Gala. She has not been spotted at the event since 2019. She was reportedly seen publicly at the Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere in New York.

Lady Gaga’s last appearance at the Met Gala
Ever since Lady Gaga made her appearance at the 2019 Met Gala, fans have been eagerly waiting for her to return to the Met Gala red carpet.
Gaga has not attended the event this year, despite heavy speculation tied to her role in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and the “Costume Art” theme. Elle magazine confirmed that she has not been seen attending Met Gala since she served four different looks in 2019. The Die with a Smile singer served as a co-chair for the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme.
According to the reports, Gaga’s four distinct looks at the 2019 Met Gala were created in collaboration with designer Brandon Maxwell. She stole the show with her theatrical 16-minute performance on the red carpet. In her interviews, she described the four‑part outfit change as a “met‑amorphosis” and a way of showing how identity and style can shift in real time. Here is a glimpse of those outfits:
Hot-pink cape gown with 25-foot train
She arrived at the red carpet in a massive magenta colored gown with puffed sleeves, a full skirt and a long cape. She completed her look with a matching hat which was fastened to her platinum hair. For the makeup, she wore cat eye with needle-like pieces protruding from her eyelashes. She added a hot-pink lipstick to complete her look.

Black strapless gown
Under the cape, she revealed a sleek black strapless gown, that she accessorized with a black umbrella, giving a more “Cinderella–gothic” vibe.
Hot-pink gothic style column gown
Lady Gaga then revealed her third look which was a ‘90s style column gown. It was a body-hugging dress with spaghetti straps in Barbie-pink shade. She held a giant retro cell phone and wore Linda Farrow sunglasses to complete her overall look.
Bra-style lingerie finale
For the final reveal, she stripped down to a matching bra and underwear set which she paired with sheer stockings and stiletto boots. She carried a hot-pink custom-made wagon with “Haus of Gaga” inscribed on it in gold letters. Inside it were boxes containing Maxwell‑branded rosé/champagne bottles and pink cowboy hats inspired by her Joanne era, pulled from his runway show.
