Political commentator and podcaster Candace Owens faces a new defamation lawsuit from Charlie Kirk’s former security head, Brian Harpole. On Thursday, celebrity attorney Matt Sarelson posted a lawsuit document on X and wrote:
“On behalf of Brian Harpole, I filed this defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens and Mitchell Snow. We will not be providing any other statements. You can follow me for updates.”
For the unversed, last year in December, Candace Owens invited a person named Mitch Snow on her podcast who claimed to have spotted Charlie Kirk’s security chief, Brian Harpole, at Fort Huachuca military base a day before Kirk was shot. Snow, who claimed to be ex-military personnel, said that he was at the base for his personal work and saw Harpole meeting the top brass of the army, seemingly planning for an operation.
Snow also claimed he was “95 to 99% sure” that he also saw Erika Kirk at the Fort Huachuca base. Days before inviting Snow on her podcast, Owens wrote on Instagram Stories.
“It feels like today will be the day that the government can no longer deny it. Charlie Kirk was assassinated and our military was involved.”
After she invited Snow on the podcast, the podcaster pushed Mitch Snow’s speculation for weeks. At the time, Candace Owens and Mitch Snow faced dismissal and criticism from several internet personalities like Alex Jones and Gary Melton.
More about Brian Harpole’s defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens
As per the filing shared by Harpole’s attorney, Matt Sarelson, Owens “falsely accused” Kirk’s security chief of “conspiring to assassinate” TPUSA founder.
“Candace Owens – a wealthy, influential, and well-known conspiracy theorist with a massive social media following – falsely accused Brian Harpole of conspiring to assassinate Charlie Kirk. She did so in coordination with Mitchell Snow, who fed Owens a completely and obviously fabricated story that Brian Harpole met with Army intelligence officers and Erika Kirk, Charlie’s now widow, at Fort Huachuca to plan the murder,” the lawsuit alleges.
The lawsuit document included a number of tweets made by Owens about the Fort Huachuca theory. The filing called Brian Harpole’s alleged September 9, 2025, meeting with a military official “verifiably false” and claimed that Harpole’s travel records show that he was in Dallas, Texas, on that day.
The former security chief of Charlie Kirk has sought “compensatory damages” and demanded the “removal of the defamatory statements” from Owens’ and Mitch Snow’s social media accounts.
The new lawsuit adds to Owens’ legal troubles. The podcaster is already facing a defamation lawsuit from Brigitte Macron for claiming that she was born a male.
