Man on Fire is the new Netflix action thriller that premiered on the platform on April 30, 2026. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as John Creasy, a former Special Forces agent, who is now given the job of protecting a young woman, Poe.

Man on Fire follows John Creasy, who is still traumatized by the mission that went horribly wrong in Mexico, killing most of his men. Amidst this, he is given the job of protecting Poe, a young woman, the daughter of Creasy’s friend, Paul Rayburn, who witnessed a horrific crime and is now hunted by dangerous men.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, whom you might have recently seen in Wonder Man and also in Watchmen, stars as John Creasy. Billie Boullet, who is also known for her roles in A Small Light and The Worst Witch, stars as Poe Rayburn. Bobby Cannavale, known for his performance in Boardwalk Empire and Blue Jasmine, among others, stars as Paul Rayburn, Poe’s father. Alice Braga, who is best known for her roles in The Suicide Squad and Queen of the South, stars as a cab driver, Valeria Melo, who becomes an ally of John and hopes to leave Brazil someday.
Scoot McNairy stars as Henry Tappen, who used to work with John and is now the CIA’s Deputy Director. Tappen has also starred in Argo, Luckiest Girl Alive, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and True Detective, among others. Thomás Aquino stars as Prado Soares, an influential member of the Brazilian government whom Rayburn introduces John to. Aquino is known for his performances in Treze Dias Longe do Sol and The Secret Agent.
Jefferson Baptista stars as Livro, someone who becomes Poe’s friend when she is hiding from the men who want her dead. Baptista is also known for starring in Supernova and Never Give Up. Alex Ozerov-Meyer stars as Ivan, who used to work with John in the past. He reunites with John in Brazil on this new mission. Ozerov-Meyer is also known for starring in Orphan Black and Brilliant Minds, among other projects. Iago Xavier stars as Vico, the head of a mafia in Brazil. Xavier has also starred in Motel Destino.
Additionally, Man on Fire also stars Paul Ben-Victor as Moncrief, Billy Blanco Jr. as President João Carmo, Bruno Suzano as Beto, Pâmela Germano as Marina Melo, and Rei Black as Duda.
