The first teaser and release date of Ted Lasso Season 4 have been revealed. Season 3 ended with Ted returning to Kansas to coach Henry’s soccer team. Back in Richmond, Rebecca sold 49% of the club to supporters, kept the majority of the shares and the team, and took up on Keely’s offer of running an AFC Richmond women’s team with Keeley.
While it wasn’t confirmed whether Ted would return to coach the AFC Richmond women’s team, the teaser trailer for Ted Lasso Season 4 confirms that he does return. The teaser also reveals that the upcoming season will premiere in August, 2026.
Ted Lasso Season 4 release date and teaser revealed
The Ted Lasso Season 4 teaser revealed that the upcoming season will premiere on Apple TV on August 5, 2026, with the first episode. The season will have ten episodes, and thus the remaining nine episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays till October 7, 2026. The teaser also teased scenes between Roy and Keely, and showed us moments from the practice sessions of the new women’s team.
The teaser also had a short clip of an elderly fan of the AFC Richmond men’s team telling Ted,
“Welcome back, Coach. Too bad you’re coaching a bunch of girls… Ya w***er.”
Thus, Ted is returning to coach the AFC Richmond women’s team and will again work with Keely and Rebecca. We will also get to see more of Rebecca’s relationship with Mattheijs. According to Apple TV’s press release, the synopsis of Ted Lasso Season 4 is:
In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.
New cast members joining Season 4 are Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern. The names of the characters they are playing are yet to be revealed. We can only confirm that Grant Feely is joining the show as Henry Lasso. Cast members returning for Season 4 are Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Willis Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins.
