Here’s what went down Monday, April 27, 2026, on Beyond the Gates, when all Tomás, Dani, and Vanessa were missing was Scooby and Shaggy, Smitty picked up more intel sans disguise, and Bill nearly cracked the case of The Missing Husband.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Kial ran into Nicole at the country club, and Naughty Nikki wasted no time talking about how she’d been fantasizing about having Kial’s hands all over her body. In between flirtation, Nicole wanted to know what Kial and Carlton had been talking about when she saw them together at the hospital. Kial confessed that they’d been discussing the fact that they both had feelings for Nicole and that they weren’t going anywhere unless Nicole said so. Nicole smirked when Kial relayed how he and Carlton had shot hoops and arrived at a tie. (No symbolism there!)
Nicole’s desire was curtailed (good thing, too; the club probably doesn’t Scotchgard the carpet) when Kial suddenly mentioned that he had told his grown sons, Noah and Connor, about her. Kial acknowledged that he and Nicole hadn’t reached any level of seriousness, but that he wanted to be open with his boys about his love life. Nicole expressed concern that they hadn’t lost their mother that long ago, but Kial reflected that life had to go on. After a brief discussion about the major changes in her life and those of her loved ones (including Deanna’s hostility about Vanessa seeing Joey), Nicole and Kial decided to go in search of “something more exciting to do.” Gee, wonder what that could be.
Isn’t she lovely

Hayley surprised Bill with a meal inspired by the island cuisine in St. Bart’s, where their villa was located. Bill was enjoying the food until Hayley mentioned that she had picked it up from Capitol Grove – he suddenly began coughing and nearly choked on what he’d been eating. Naomi burst in and was appalled that Hayley wasn’t making any moves to help him. After Bill recovered from the near miss, he took Hayley to task for getting the eats from such a shady neighborhood, especially after she had been mugged outside of the reputable Orphey Gene’s. Hayley assumed Bill was still fretting about Lynette and said with conviction that Lynette was gone, “never to return.” Both Bill and Naomi wondered how Hayley could be so certain. Hayley probably wished she were choking in that moment.
Pretending she wanted to give Naomi and Bill their privacy, Hayley split, and Bill knowingly asked Naomi how she was coping with Jacob still being away for “training.” Bill wouldn’t let Naomi sidestep the issue when it was obvious something else was going on, but Naomi flipped the script by growling that Bill was “blind as a bat” when it came to his own spouse. Later, Hayley returned and tried to convince Bill to get out of town on vacation, but Bill was unmovable, since there were open threats to his family. Not to worry, Bill – the real threat is Hayley’s poison, and you’ve downed enough of that to knock out a whole paddock of horses by now! You’re fine!
Tomás approached Vanessa at Uptown, hesitantly getting into the subject of Lynette and her abandoned penthouse. Vanessa was none too pleased to have been stiffed by a client and grumbled that she had called in some favors because of Lynette’s lack of documentation. Dani walked in and overheard the two talking about the penthouse, assuming Bill was buying it for Tomás. After getting clarification, both Dani and Vanessa wondered how it was appropriate for Tomás to grill Vanessa about one of her clients – until Dani did some sleuthing online and read how Lynette’s embezzlement charges had been dropped. Dani also realized that she’d once met Lynette, seeing her hanging out with Hayley. Tomás put it together that Dani had caught Lynette and Hayley together before Lynette had saved Hayley from her attacker. Break out the Scooby Snacks!
Unsuccessfully trying to dodge Vanessa and Dani’s questions about why he was looking into Lynette, Tomás finally squealed that Bill had him on the case, likely because Lynette had been trying to take advantage of Hayley. Dani, Tomás, and Vanessa all found it odd that Lynette had suddenly split town after Hayley was seemingly ready to buy a luxury apartment to lease to her; Dani ordered Tomás to inform her if he learned anything, worried about how Hayley’s activities might impact her family. Will Tomás actually dig something up? Lots of folks break out their magnifying glasses on this show but few make tangible discoveries. Nicole was supposed to find out who plied Laura with potassium and we’re still waiting on that!
Uptight (everything’s all right)

Grayson awoke from a fitful sleep to find Ashley over him, and he panicked. After he fully came to, he told Ashley that he was still in pain; she lamented only being able to give him over-the-counter medication and was extremely unsettled about his enduring fever. Still, Grayson refused to go to the hospital. Ashley saw Grayson’s phone light up and asked him who “Rashad” was. (He’s that dude who tries to talk street but sounds like he walked out of a ’70s blaxploitation film.) Grayson was afraid to tell Ashley more than he already had because he wanted to protect her. Grayson’s condition being a more pressing concern, Ashley decided to go into the hospital to try to snag him some prescription antibiotics.
Once Ashley left, Grayson called Jacob, letting him know that Ren had stabbed him but lying that he had brought Ashley into the situation. Although Grayson wanted to stay out of sight, Jacob reminded him that they had a drop scheduled. which neither of them could afford to miss, given they’d each been attacked. Hey, some companies dole out incentives differently than others.
Smitty went to the hospital to see Ashley, but Shanice told him that Ash wasn’t on the schedule. Lying that he was writing a piece on blood donation and blood drives, Smitty peppered Shanice with questions and learned that Garland was short on their supply of plasma. Shanice also had to admit that prospective blood donors weren’t subjected to the highest levels of screening. Smitty stepped in it when he implied that he’d heard about the donation program being dicey from Rachel Lewis; he had to stop Shanice from reprimanding Rachel for spreading false information. However, Smitty did come away with the fact that Rachel had been working tons of overtime.
Then, Shanice was surprised to see Ashley, who lied that she had switched schedules with another nurse. Ashley was tense and distracted and nearly cut Shanice off for asking how her date with Grayson had gone. Meanwhile, a slow-moving Grayson rendezvoused with Jacob in the elevator to make his delivery – notice how they seemed to bond over being beaten by Ren? Grayson exited and was asking Shanice if she’d seen Lia when Ashley appeared; she and Grayson were each shocked to see each other and were barely able to hide it from eagle-eyed Shanice. When Shanice pondered why Ashley was behaving so strangely and why Grayson looked so pale, the couple built on Shanice’s theory that they’d had too much wine the night before. And Shanice really bought this? Girl is slipping.
I just called to say I love you

Ashley got into a locked cabinet to snag meds for Grayson. only to be caught by Lia, who frowned that she wasn’t supposed to be there. Lia clarified that Ashley wasn’t scheduled to work; she didn’t see Ashley shoving the bottles in the pocket of her scrubs. Ashley slipped Grayson the pills, just catching Grayson’s hint that someone at the hospital was involved in what had happened to him, when Lia emerged again, sending Ashley off to take care of a patient. Alone with Grayson in the elevator, Lia commanded him to make sure Ashley was kept in the dark…and she offered to “keep my eye on her” while Grayson went home.
At the motel, Jacob, still in pain himself, was upset that Grayson was continuing to not give him any names. When Jacob added that the assignment was taking too long, Smitty said his reporter senses indicated they were about to make a break – but Jacob sighed that there were only two outcomes: either Smitty’s story saw the light of day…or he wouldn’t. Jacob freaked Naomi out by suddenly calling on the burner phone to tell her he loved her; though Jacob insisted he was a lot closer to cracking the case, Naomi countered that only meant a much higher level of risk.
Next up, it’s Anita and Chelsea vs. Leslie, Tyrell, and Jessica get caught with their pants down, and Ted and Nicole do some reminiscing on their not-anniversary.
