One Piece Episode 1159 is here, and it is one of the important episodes in the Elbaph storyline, as we get the payoff everyone has been waiting for. While the start of this episode felt like a normal escape sequence, knowing this franchise, the narrative quickly became larger than what met the eye. There was action, lore reveal, and the core character got their moments.
By the time the credits started to roll, one thing became clear: This moment in the series is more about escaping the so-called Sun God. It is more about breaking free from a system that has been built on control and illusion. Interestingly, the whole of the escape sequence in One Piece Episode 1159 is the strongest point of this week’s installment.
It was incredibly chaotic, which maintained the feeling of tension while also offering a well-balanced narrative. We saw the temple burning, the structure collapsing as the Sun God kept on chasing the Straw Hat crew, but they never seemed to lose control of the situation. Moreover, Nami surprisingly stole the show as she managed to memorize the layout of the diorama.

In One Piece Episode 1159, Nami confidently led the crew without even needing a physical map. It just shows how important her inclusion is in the Straw Hat Crew. She is not just a navigator for the seas on this world, but her ability to understand any new location with ease just shows how the crew needs her to survive in moments like these.
At the same time, Zoro and Sanji in Episode 1159 effortlessly sliced through a steel net that was made to hold giants, which was a major highlight as it once again proves how the crew is in the first place.
The Sun God reveals changes everything

Another major highlight of One Piece Episode 1159 happens when we get to know the actual identity of Sun God. While this lore reveal actually does not answer any major questions that the viewers have, it managed to give some context of what is actually happening in the Block Kingdom.
Moreover, we also get information on Road’s motive. He wanted to turn the Straw Hat crew into living dolls and place them in this diorama. It just shows how much control this character craves. Interestingly, he is not just someone who feels satisfied by defeating his opponent; he wants to own them.
It is an incredibly twisted way of thinking. What makes this moment in One Piece Episode 1159 more interesting is how Road is part of a faction that actually openly opposes Hajrudin’s alliance with humans. He believes that giants are superior, and this kind of thinking has been seen multiple times in the show. While he might be a one-off villain, his inclusion gave us a peek into the internal power struggle that has been taking place within Elbaph Island.
Nami and Luffy deliver the perfect payoff in One Piece Episode 1159

We get a perfect payoff in this episode, all because of the team effort of Nami and Luffy. When Nami used Zeus’s lightning strike, it was undoubtedly one of the most satisfying moments. Till now in the story, she had been sidelined in major fights, but now in One Piece Episode 1159, she gets to land a lethal attack against the current main threat.
That is when Luffy follows up with Gear 4, and his final attack was also impactful. When he broke the wall, it became a symbolic moment because it was more than all of them escaping. This represents them finally breaking free from the illusion that trapped them against their will. Finally, One Piece Episode 1159 has finished this mini arc, and fans are now ready to watch the main Elbaph arc unfold.
