The Forsytes Episode 6 preview: Ann reveals a dark secret, and Irene is left heartbroken after Soames’ decision
Previously in The Forsytes, we saw how, due to James’ miscalculation, several investors faced loss due to the mining accident, which killed over 200 people. Jo had warned James and asked him not to advise the investors to invest in the mines due to their poor working conditions. Soames supported his father, James, explaining that it was the individual investors’ decision and not his father’s.
However, what left everyone shocked was when Ann, Jolyon Sr., James’ mother, and the Forsytes’ matriarch interfered in the matter. She points out that Harry Falconer, their trusted client, had a major loss due to the mining accident, and they need to help the Falconers out. Ann, stepping up for the Falconers, seems to be quite suspicious, and her deep, dark secret that she is about to reveal in the season finale might be related.
Elsewhere, Soames keeps telling Irene to be grateful for the life that she has got after her marriage. However, Irene seems to remain conflicted. She tells him that this isn’t the life that she chose. Irene is ambitious, and her ballet dreams are being crushed.
Meanwhile, Soames commissions a country house, which might lead to a rift between him and his partner. Jo keeps on distancing himself from Frances and family; their complex relationship and the rift might raise suspicion. This might become the town’s next hot gossip and might ruin his chance to become the head of the family firm. Will Jo choose Louisa over Frances?
