What happened in Episode 9 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2?
In Episode 9 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, Titan X reaches Skull Island, following Isabel’s men and her egg. Godzilla also follows the titan but no longer attacks it. Keiko thinks it’s because Godzilla is making sure the titan returns to where it came from; therefore, the island might have a rift.
Hence, they decide to follow Billy’s map to find the rift and also bring back Cate and Kentaro, who were with Isabel. On the Island, Cate tries to make Kentaro stop repeating the same mistake she made and causing more harm. As she learns that Isabel was trying to use the Titans and Axis Mundi to time-travel, she asks Kentaro to see through Isabel’s dangerous plan, but fails.
Elsewhere, Lee and Keiko get separated from May, Tim, and the Monarch team, follow Billy’s map, and finally reach the location where Billy died. They also spot a nearby location where they find several devices made by Suzuki sensei. The flashback scenes of the episode show that Billy sent the devices from different rifts around the world, which ended up here on Skull Island, making it a crucial location connecting Axis Mundi. Keiko also finally learns that Billy spent all his years searching for her.
Furthermore, Kentaro finds that capturing Titan X was not the only thing stopping Isabel from using Axis Mundi for her own plan; it would also involve the killing of Kong, which makes him question whether he was really on the right side this time.
