A disappointing loss for Isla and the Waves in Running Point Season 1

The Running Point Season 1 finale saw Isla finally triumph against all odds. With the help of her best friend Ali, she led the Waves to Game 7 of the playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers. While this was a huge win for Isla, the Waves were struggling without their star player Travis who was in rehab. Additionally, rumors about Marcus being traded from the Waves were creating speculation and distracting the team from their win. However, moments before the match, Isla gave a motivating pep talk to her team in the locker room, asking them to give their best as a team.

The playoffs started on the right note for Isla and the Waves in the Season 1 finale. After the team’s undrafted rookie Dyson Gibbs was granted two free throws, the Waves were tied with the Trail Blazers, suggesting they might win. However, in the final moments, one of the Trail Blazers took an impressive winning shot from the middle of the court, resulting in the Waves’ disappointing defeat.

Throughout Season 1, Isla prioritized her career and took her fiancé Lev for granted. While he was initially supportive of her decisions, they eventually grew distant and Lev revealed that he is moving to Minnesota for a new career opportunity. This was a wake-up call for Isla, who showed up at Lev’s office before the game and apologized to him for taking him for granted. This proved that Isla had genuine feelings for Lev but the latter was hesitant to get back together and asked for some time to process the situation.

Lev practically suggested that he did not want to get back together with Isla when he did not show up for the Waves’ game in the Running Point Season 1 finale. As the team went out for drinks, Isla sulked alone in the arena, contemplating her personal and professional lives. This was when Coach Jay found Isla and consoled her on the loss. While Isla grew apart from Lev, she developed a genuine connection with Jay. This resulted in her decision to end his contract three years earlier and give him a chance to be with his daughters in Boston. Isla’s brothers were against her ending Jay’s contract earlier but she understood the importance of a father in a woman’s life.

In the final moments of the Running Point Season 1 finale, as Isla expressed disappointment at losing Jay to Boston, he surprised her with a swoonworthy kiss, setting up a potential romance in the latest season. While Isla is still working out her feelings for Lev, this game-changing kiss and Jay’s move to Boston are bound to make her romantic life chaotic in Running Point Season 2.

Running Point Season 1 concluded with Cam’s shocking return

The Running Point Season 1 finale revealed that the leak was none other than Cam, who had been circulating the rumour of Marcus’ trade-off to make matters difficult for Isla. Turns out, Cam named his younger sister as his successor in his absence not because he trusted her capabilities but because he wanted her to fail miserably, making it easy for him to claim his place when he returns. However, much to his surprise, Isla managed to revive the Waves and even led them to the Playoffs.

In the final moments of the Running Point Season 1 finale, Isla returns to her office the next morning after the humiliating defeat, determined to start her second season as the Waves’ President. However, she was surprised to see Cam sitting in her chair, who had bribed and earned an early return from the rehab.

This sets up an intense sibling rivalry in the latest season, as Isla will have to navigate her brother’s return and a host of new threats to keep her position as the Waves’ President.
