Gio surprised Emma by telling her that they were going to New York City. His friend was one of the stars of Aladdin on Broadway, and the Genie granted them a wish for an exclusive experience at the musical. To Emma’s (and everyone watching’s) shock, Gio stepped in and actually took part in the musical at some point.

Gio promised Emma an authentic NYC experience, which begged the question of whether he planned to visit his family. He wasn’t ready to dive into that, especially after being lied to his entire life. Beyond that, he pleaded with Emma to avoid posting about the trip because his family could never know that he was there and didn’t see him.

Too close for comfort

Josslyn was in full distraction mode at Bobbie’s, making a mess of the place. Lulu showed up and noted that she seemed preoccupied. The topic shifted to Cesar Faison and the ongoing mental health crisis involving Anna’s belief that he was still alive.

Josslyn put on her messy hat and asked if things were awkward with Nathan since she hated his sister. However, that wasn’t the problem. Instead, it was the complicated relationship between Britt and Rocco that worried Lulu. Britt was too close for comfort, but even Lulu needed to admit that Rocco was the one pursuing the connection.

A hard reality check

Jordan continued her new path of self-loathing, and she wanted Portia to tell her she was ugly. Not really, but Portia refused to mince words and told Jordan that she didn’t like her. However, she told her that her body needed time to heal, and she needed to start accepting some help. The almighty, powerful Jordan needed to recognize her current limitations. Portia suggested Jordan allow Curtis to help.

Jordan didn’t want any part of Portia sniffing around her business. Despite Jordan somehow always being knee deep in Portia’s secrets, she wanted Portia far away from her. Portia, being the only mature person in the scenario, proposed that everyone get along for the sake of Curtis and the baby.

Isaiah, also rational, wanted Curtis to stand down with his attitude regarding Jordan. He didn’t do anything wrong, and it’s not his fault that Jordan didn’t want to face the reality of her current situation. Isaiah clocked Curtis for trying to dictate who Jordan does and does not want to lean on during her time of crisis.

Curtis returned to Jordan, dug herself out of a sea of self-pity, and finally agreed to let him stay. She had a long road ahead of her, and there was no point in wallowing. With Curtis by her side, Jordan wouldn’t face this alone. Focusing on the scars wasn’t going to do anything more than send her into a deep well of depression.

The secret spreads

Britt was STUNNED that Rocco was the person responsible for putting a bullet in Cullum’s back. Nothing about it made sense, including why Rocco was on the pier at the time of the shooting. Britt was horrified to learn that the child she gave birth to was there because of her.

Rocco knew that Britt was terrified for her life. She was always a pillar of strength, so for her to be that scared, he knew something was off. He did what he had to do and what he thought was right. Britt wanted him to walk her through everything, every step of the way, and he spared no details.

Rocco wasn’t aware of the full scope of Britt and Lucas’ conversation, but Cullum’s arrival changed everything, and Rocco’s life will never be the same again. The missing piece was how Rocco managed to get his hands on the gun, and he explained that after Jason and Cullum struggled, he picked up the gun to save Jason’s life. There was no other choice but to fire the weapon.

Rocco spiraled in the chapel after confessing his sins to Britt. This was uncharted territory for the young man, and he was frozen in fear after pulling the trigger. She falsely assumed that she was the only one in on the secret, aside from Jason. However, Rocco informed her that not only did Lulu know, but so did Nathan. Unknown to Rocco, the man who helped him has actually been working side by side with the man he nearly killed.

A prime suspect emerges

Nathan filled Dante in on the possibility of another car being involved in the accident that left Jordan injured. Turner wanted the person responsible for Jordan’s crash to be held to the fullest extent of the law. With pressure from Turned, Sidwell, and others, whoever was behind the wheel of the other vehicle was in a great deal of trouble.

There was no sign of Marco’s phone, and Dante realized there was something on it that the killer didn’t want found. The topic shifted to Nathan’s involvement with Lulu, which was still completely awkward between the best friends. Dante and Lulu will always share a connection, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

Nathan received a phone call from forensics: paint on the guardrail could be tied back to the car that smashed into Jordan and Curtis. Dante phoned Curtis and told him about the lead, and all signs pointed to Isaiah as the driver who might have ruined Jordan’s life forever.
