NCIS Season 23 Episode 17, titled ‘Reboot‘, is now available to stream on Paramount+. In this episode of NCIS Season 23, LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna makes a special apperance. The episode begins with a plumber visiting a house to fix the bathroom sink. However, when he finishes off and calls for the family members, none respond. As he walks into the living room, he finds the woman and her children tied together. Before he could untie them, he got hit in his head and collapsed on the ground.
The camera shifts to the NCIS Headquarters, where we find Kasie leading a reboot session on Sunday night. The reboot would take around two hours. Unfortunately, the session halts midway through, and Kasie realises there has been a break-in. Jimmy and Parker find out about the mishap and eventually discover Daryl, a tech troll’s dead body. During the investigation, Parker finds Sam Hanna in the multipurpose room. Turns out, his flight was delayed, and he sneaked into the headquarters to rest. Later, he teams up with Jimmy and Parker to solve the case. Kasie was sure that none of the tech trolls were responsible for Daryl’s death. As they started to dig deeper, they found out that Daryl’s friend, Harold, lied about his identity and degree to get a job at NCIS. Nonetheless, he wasn’t responsible for Daryl’s death.
Tommy, the maintenance guy who was already acting suspicious, was caught plugging something into Kasie’s laptop. He confessed to his crime. Turns out, it was his family that was held hostage, and he was asked to follow the orders. However, when Kasie rechecked her laptop, she found that a pivotal file called Edna was missing. Turns out, the culprit wanted to get hold of the Edna files and was successful in doing so. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as no details were provided about Kasie’s Edna files.
However, the preview of NCIS Season 23 Episode 18 teases that the stolen Edna files might cause trouble for Kasie, as it results in a mysterious death. Here’s more about it.

The preview opens with Kasie worrying about the stolen Edna program files. Turns out, the culprit had already started misusing it, and someone has died as a result. Since only Kaise knew about the program and its functions, someone might use it to frame her. As per the synopsis, the program files may become a threat to national security. We also see McGee ask Kasie whether her program is valuable, to which Kasie answers that it may be to some people. By the end of the preview, we see Kasie telling Sam,
“Maybe I undersold it.”
So, what is Edna in NCIS Season 23? Even though not much can be decoded from the preview, it seems like Edna is a program that can turn fatal if its powers are misused. In the preview, Sam Hanna calls it a ‘gamechanger’ to Kasie, who was not aware of its fatal impact. Can the NCIS team save Kasie from the blame and the wider conspiracy?
