Here is the complete Will Trent Season 4 Episode 16 recap.
Will Trent Season 4 Episode 16 closes Adelaide’s chapter for good
While Will and the GBI were still reeling from their deputy director’s death, the only way to honour her was to find Adelaide and her acolytes and make them pay for this tragic loss. After Will asked Caroline to find out about Amanda’s activities over the past few days, he discovered that she had been hunting down Adelaide’s acolytes with the FBI. Faith and Franklin finally got hold of the man who killed Amanda Wagner. He was one of Adelaide’s acolytes and a school teacher but this was a dead end, as he had already been killed. Will realized that Adelaide was tying up all her loose ends and that he was running out of time.
Will Trent Season 4 Episode 16 took a turn when Will and the GBI finally got their hands on Commander, the mysterious figure linked to the online group that worshipped Adelaide and James Ulster. The commander was a man named Alexander Stewart who seemed highly delusional. While Will tried to get information from him, it was his words that finally broke him:
“I know you don’t care, but I’m going to tell you a little bit about Amanda Wagner. Amazing woman. She was more than a boss to me. She was my Adelaide, plucked me out of obscurity. She was my mentor. Made me who I am today, just like Adelaide did for you. The only difference: Amanda Wagner never tried to kill me.”
Will’s words in Will Trent Season 4 Episode 16 worked their magic and Alexander spilled the beans on Adelaide’s acolytes, who were dropping like flies. This intel led Faith, Ormewood, and Angie to Janice-Teresa, James Ulster’s girlfriend, who revealed that Adelaide’s funds were drying up and she needed money fast. Janice revealed that Adelaide tricked her into revealing the location of James’ secret stash of money, setting up a showdown between the characters.
As Will had anticipated, Adelaide was waiting for him by the stash of money. She showed him a video of Antonio as proof, who was alive but in bad condition and likely starved for food and water. Adelaide provided Will with two options. First, he kills himself, and she reveals his uncle’s location to his team, or she dies by suicide, taking his uncle’s location (and him) to her grave. As Will is negotiating with Adelaide, Faith arrives on the scene, making Adelaide surrender. However, Will shoots Adelaide after he sees a gun holstered in the back of her knee, finally putting an end to her chapter.
The final moments of Will Trent Season 4 Episode 16 saw Will and Faith fishing out Uncle Antonio’s location from the video. After they hear train sounds, they narrow him down to an abandoned train station. Uncle Antonio is finally discovered alive and rescued. In the hospital, Antonio asked Will not to carry guilt over this incident.
Will Trent Season 4 Episode 16 concludes with a small celebration of life for Amanda Wagner in a bar, with Captain Heller, Angie, Faith, Ormewood, and Franklin all gathered to honour their late Deputy Director. Will, who was absent from this celebration, sat in Amanda’s old office, looking at a photo of the woman who gave him a second life.
