Exploring Mindy Cohn’s personal life

Not much is known about Mindy Cohn’s personal life. She is, however, a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and is a self-proclaimed “fag h*g” and “boy crazy.”

In the absence of a romantic partner or children, the Scooby-Doo voice artist relies on her friends and parents, including Hollywood insiders Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr Brent Ridge of the Fabulous Beekman Boys fame.

In fact, the last time she had cancer, Cohn moved in with the duo. Later, in October 2017, she told PEOPLE in an interview:

“They are my family. I have my parents, who have always been there for me. And then I have my family by choice, which includes them. We’ll be in each other’s lives forever.”

Mindy Cohn also spoke about his cancerous symptoms the first time around.

“I was walking around my neighborhood in Los Angeles and I suddenly got so tired. I just couldn’t go anymore. This was before Uber was really a thing, so I texted my friend [Helen Hunt] and said, ‘Something’s wrong with me. I need help.’”

Following a doctor’s visit, Mindy Cohn was diagnosed with a malignant lump in her breast and underwent a double mastectomy alongside radiation, chemotherapy, and more.

Today, Mindy is leaning on actress-writer Tara Karsian, actor-producer Gregory Zarian, and his husband, John Stewart, for support. She described them as her “advocates” in her latest IG post.

Several celebrities joined in the comment section to send prayers and best wishes for Mindy Cohn. Ryan Phillippe, her co-star from the 2025 slasher movie The Him, sent a praying hand emoji. Likewise, actress-author Octavia Spencer posted four pairs of red heart emojis.

Fellow comedic actor and singer Vicki Lawrence wrote:

“Love you, Mindy. Damn it… F**K CANCER.”

Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt, who is a longtime friend of Cohn, also tagged along, writing:

“Sending Love your way (LOVE Dr Bilchik).”

Sarah Paulson, Lucy Hale, Chelsea Handler, and Nicole Eggert were also among those industry insiders who sent solidarity for Cohn.
