While Tori informed her parents that she would spend the night at Julie’s for a history project, they were out partying. However, Julie stumbled upon a serial killer who had already murdered her parents. While Tori hid under the bed, the killer stabbed Julie to death before pulling her friend from her hiding place and taking her with him.
Since the police believed Tori was likely dead by now, her parents reached out to Randy in Tracker Season 3 Episode 17, who accepted the case without consulting Colter. After Colter learned the details, he was on his way to Montana to find Tori.
Here is the complete Tracker Season 3 Episode 17 recap.
Agent Temple and Colter race against time to find Tori in Tracker Season 3 Episode 17
Tracker Season 3 Episode 17 saw FBI Special Agent Temple arrive on Tori’s case, as she believed a serial killer was behind Julie and her parents’ murders. While the police disapproved of Colter’s presence on the case, Temple appreciated the help and briefed him on the perp’s profile. The FBI believed the serial killer murdered the families and abducted their daughters, who were later killed within 36 hours. While the perp likely planned to do this with Julie, too, he was taken aback and had to kill her, taking Tori in the process. Both Colter and Temple agreed that Tori had little time and they needed to find the teenager.
As Colter began snooping around, he came across a trash can with Julie’s mother’s credit card, which had a tab for a 6 pm hair salon appointment. As Colter and Temple went to the hairdresser to investigate, Randy hacked into the home security camera near Julie’s house. The hacker tells Colter about a parked RV near Julie’s house at 2:37 am, which suggests the killer was keeping tabs on the family in Tracker Season 3 Episode 17. While the license plate is muddy, Randy assures Colter that he will work on it.
Meanwhile, Colter and Temple reached the hair salon and the hairdresser revealed that the girls had booked an appointment using Julie’s mother’s card. He also tells them that the girls were approached by a photographer for modelling and were about to meet him after their hair appointment.
Killer’s shocking identity comes to light in Tracker Season 3 Episode 17
Randy proved his impressive hacking skills once again in Tracker Season 3 Episode 17 as he managed to find the RV’s owner from the partial license plate, who was none other than a regular s*xual offender and a photographer named Nelson Reagan. When Colter and Temple rushed to Nelson’s house, he made a run for it. While Colter chased after Nelson, Temple found a bloody knife in one of his drawers that contained Julie’s DNA. As Nelson was taken to the station, he denied killing Julie and her parents. He expresses regret over not knowing that the girls were underage and feels like somebody is framing him.
Colter notices a makeshift mark on the knife and traces its maker, a violent felon named Amos. While Amos was not initially cooperative in Tracker Season 3 Episode 17, he eventually reveals that it was bought under the alias of G. Lee and also provides them with an address. Colter advises Temple to head to the location first, but she follows anyway. The tracker was shocked to reach the location, as it was filled with things and equipment used to torture. The episode takes a turn when Colter mistakes the killer for Tori, who is none other than the hairdresser. He reveals that teenagers are rotting inside as they use their parents’ wealth to party and waste their lives. As he ties Colter to a chair, he brings Tori from the basement, who is still alive. While Colter begins to untie himself, the hairdresser rushes outside after hearing gunshots from Temple. Colter successfully rescued Tori and headed outside to rescue his partner, who had suffered a gunshot wound to her clavicle from the killer. In the final moments of Tracker Season 3 Episode 17, Colter sneaks behind the killer and snaps his neck, rescuing both Temple and Tori. As Tori was reunited with her parents, the EMTs helped Temple, who did not have a fatal injury.
