Chad (then played by Billy Flynn) made a huge deal about taking a road trip to Arizona that was supposed to just last a few weeks, and maybe it did in Salem time, but it was close to two months in real time. Maybe his long and dramatic goodbyes weren’t so strange after all.

When Chad returns to Salem, he has a whole new face because he is played by The Young and the Restless alum, Conner Floyd. Even Thomas looks a bit older, but Charlotte (Autumn Gendron) looks the same.

They are walking through the square when Charlotte spots Cat (AnnaLynne McCord), leading to an awkward reunion between Cat and Chad. Will this lead anywhere or will Belle (Martha Madison) be Chad’s love interest since the stage has been set for that? The stage seems to also have been set for Cat and EJ (Daniel Feuerrigel).

Chanel (Raven Bowens) is serving Sweet Bits baked goods in Horton Town Square when she also gets a big surprise. Her sister Lani (Sal Stowers) is back in town and ready to catch up on all the gossip.

Will Chanel tell her the good and the bad? Does Chanel also go to see Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) since the good doctor orders an emergency mammogram for someone? After the lump Johnny felt the other day, it’s very possible this mammogram is for Chanel.

As for Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), things seem to be going better for him and Stephanie (Abigail Klein), but that might all soon change. Alex is surprised by who he sees at his front door. Who wants to bet it’s Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins), big and pregnant, and ready to upend his newly-happy life?

When Joy left, she told Alex that the pregnancy test was negative. However, we know she was lying and it was only a matter of time before she returned. With Stephanie telling Alex that she is not sure she wants to have kids, it’s the perfect time to give Alex a kid.

Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) advice to Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) to write down his feelings may reveal way too much. Theo does indeed take to journaling, but as is wont to happen on soaps, Theo leaves his journal sitting open on a table at The Brady Pub. Lo and behold, Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) starts reading it and comes to a startling realization, but is it the correct realization?

With Dimitri (Peter Porte) out of both of their lives, Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Gwen (Emily O’Brien) seem to want to repair their friendship, which will be easier said than done. They sit down with one another in the square, where Leo proceeds to fish for information about what might be in the DiMera tunnels. Will Gwen give anything away?

And finally, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is ready to put her plan to kill Johnny in motion and tells Sophia (Rachel Boyd) to wait for her instructions.
