The trio narrows down their search to a former deputy, Elis Monroe, who was revealed to be the Blood Moon Killer. Turns out, Monroe was delusional and used to abduct young women in hopes of saving them from their troubled lives. He would kill his old victims every time he abducted a new woman. Mickey learned that Monroe had abducted Cass from her front porch, which meant a former victim was about to be killed.
