Phantom Lawyer episode 11 brought an emotional turn to the story of Dong-sik and Jeong-hui. After Do-kyung revealed that Jeong-hui was responsible for Seon-hwa’s arrest in the previous episode, she left the court without talking to anyone. When she came back to Yi-rang’s office, she told them everything related to Seon-hwa’s arrest and also gave them a note she had found on Seon-hwa’s note, suggesting that the latter was alive.
As they began looking for people who knew Seon-hwa while she was in prison, they discovered the shocking fact that she was alive, and they had already met her.

Phantom Lawyer Episode 11 recap: Jeong-hwi confesses everything
In the previous Episode of Phantom Lawyer, Do-kyung revealed that Seon-hwa was arrested because of Jeong-hwi, and that to unburden herself from the guilt, she wanted Seon-hwa’s son to get a share of their show business. This shocks Yi-rang and Na-hyeon, and even Jeong-hwi’s son, but she leaves the court without explaining anything.
Later, she arrives at Yi-rang’s office to let them know what had happened. In a flashback scene, as Jeong-hwi goes to talk to Dong-sik about her feelings, she notices the two together and thinks he might not feel the same about her. Heartbroken, she drinks and blabbers out everything about Seon-hwa to a stranger, including that she was from North Korea, which results in Seon-hwa’s arrest and later death.
She tells them that she was guilty of separating the duo and wants to make up for it, but also gives them a note that she thinks might be from Seon-hwa herself. While they don’t trust her on this, Na-hyeon and Yi-rang begin looking for the lawyer who handled Seon-hwa’s case at the time.
Phantom Lawyer Episode 11 recap: Yi-rang and Na-hyeon find Seon-hwa
Apart from Yi-rang, Jeong-hwi’s son was also shocked to learn what his mother had done. In episode 11 of Phantom Lawyer, he confronts Do-kyung about it and asks why he was not informed about all of this beforehand, and leaves Tae-baek disappointed. Later, Na-hyeon also visits him to ask him to consider Seon-hwa’s son and give him some compensation.
While he refuses to do so, he tries to persuade her to join Tae-baek again by reiterating how dangerous Yi-rang was, but she still chooses the latter over him and leaves. Later, Yi-rang and Na-hyeon try to track the lawyer who had met Seon-hwa in prison before her death and get a hold of her cellmate.
As they go to meet the older woman, she shares with them about the fire that injured two women, one of whom was Seon-hwa. The women tried to make them believe that Seon-hwa died due to her injuries, but the other woman survived, and they began suspecting her. As they were discussing the case outside the women’s shop, Dong-sik stayed inside and witnessed the woman calling the real Seon-hwa and asking her to leave.
He finally comes out and tells Na-hyeon and Yi-rang that Seon-hwa was in the noodle restaurant, and she is the one they met when they visited Seon-hwa’s son.
Phantom Lawyer Episode 11 recap: Na-yeon and Yi-rang decide to keep Seon-hwa’s secret safe
Later, in the episode of Phantom Lawyer, Yi-rang, Na-hyeong, and Bong-su track Seon-hwa and meet her. Na-hyeon tells her that they won’t bring her truth to light, as this was safe for her, but take her to meet Jeong-hwi. The latter asks for forgiveness as she was the reason Seon-hwa’s life turned into hell. However, Seon-hwa tells her that it was actually not her fault, as the detective had been spying on her for a long time and was just looking for an opportunity to arrest her.
Elsewhere, Jeong-hwi’s son also takes the case back and decides to buy leather from Seon-hwa’s son, after Yi-rang visits him once and reminds him about his father. Near the end, it is also revealed that Dong-sik had always loved Jeong-hwi and not Seon-hwa, clearing the biggest misunderstanding about her life.
The Episode also teased a brewing romance between Yi-rang and Na-hyeon, which the legal K-drama might explore in the upcoming episodes.
